優勝おめでとう！！

僕はテニスに全く興味がなく、コートに球が入ったか否かの判断しかできない凡人ですが、彼女の生き方はとても勉強になると思いながら、発言や行動をチェックしています。

彼女が準決勝前にツイッターで発言したこと。

Hello as many of you aware I was scheduled to play my semifinals match tomorrow.

However, before I am an athlete , I am a black woman. 

And as a black woman,

 I feel as though there are much more important matters at hand that need immediate attention, rather than watching me play tennis.

I don’t expect anything drastic to happen with me not playing, but if I can get a conversation started in a majority white sport I consider that a step in the right direction.

Watching the continued genocide of Black people at the hand of the police is honestly making me sick to my stomach.

I’m exhausted of having a new hashtag pop up every few days and I’m extremely tired of having this same conversation over and over again.

When will it ever be enough?

彼女はこういった発言をすることで大きなリスクを背負いながら、世界と戦っています。

スポンサーがつかなくなるかもしれない。

辞退することで賞金が得られない。

マフィアに暗殺されるかもしれない。

でもこうして、きちんと自分の意見を述べて、行動することに僕ら日本人は何を感じるか。

あーまたやってるわ。といった他人事に思っている場合ではないんです。

彼女は有名であるため発言力が強い分、リスクも大きい。

２１歳の彼女に、僕ら日本人は何をどう考え、どう感じるか。

大坂選手優勝は本当にすごいことだけど、技術的なことより、彼女の思いとか伝えたいことがあるはずなんだから、メディアはそこをちゃんと伝えてほしい。

そこなんだよ！彼女が勝った意味は！！！
